What is the “Affordable Connectivity Program”

The Affordable Connectivity Program is an FCC benefit program that helps ensure that households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare, and more.

The benefit provides free internet service for eligible households. Eligible customers can also receive a 4G Android tablet for a one time $20 copay.

The Affordable Connectivity Program is limited to one monthly service discount and one device discount per household. For more information on the program visit: fcc.gov/acp

If the household income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, or if a member of the household meets one of the listed criteria:

  1. Received a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year.
  2. The National School Lunch Program or the School Breakfast Program, including through the USDA Community Eligibility Provision.
  3. Participates in one of these assistance programs and lives on Qualifying Tribal lands

Any member of your household can make your household eligible. For example, if your child or dependent participates in the Free and Reduced-Price School Lunch Program, your household qualifies for the Free Internet Benefit.

Lifeline is a program to help make communications services more affordable for low-income consumers. If you currently receive Lifeline benefits, Medicaid, you automatically qualify for the Emergency Broadband Benefit, and you can receive both benefits at the same time. You can apply your Free Internet Benefit and your Lifeline benefit to the same or separate services.

You can receive the Free Internet Benefit (or someone in your household) If you participate in one of these federal assistance programs.

You may need to show a card, letter, or official document as proof that you participate in one of these programs when you apply for the Free Internet Benefit.
